Cate Smith Survivor Sister Story

Survivor Sister Cate Smith speaks out breaking her silence about domestic violence.

I was with my partner 7 yrs it wasnt unusual for me to get slaps around the head which left me seeing lights in my eyes. He was controlling, I could do nothing unless it was something he wanted. I lost friends, was not allowed facebook anymore, could not even play games on ‘OUR’ shared phone. It all came to head this year, had to keep phoning my ex husband to get me as the abuse was getting worse. Finally in june this year he punched me on the nose and I had to run to my neighbour, who called the police. He is now going to be taken to court, he is being done for coercive behaviour and 1 other thing which I cannot remember. Yes, I miss him and know I should not, my mental health is so bad now, I’m not getting any professional help, but I’ll cope. Please any male/female who is going through any abuse, get out of it, it’s not easy, but it’s better than the alternative
