Yvonne Swain Survivor Sister Story

Thank you for the opportunity to promote healing. I love this site! I have been cleaning up my mothers blood, hair and skin since I was four years old. My father consistently beat her and made me clean it up throughout the years. I was the oldest of six and often hid my brothers and sisters from him. He would consistently call my mom a whore and often would tell me that I was going to be the same . He was a frequent user of “victim blaming” and even denies today the pain he inflicted on his wife and children. The picture I shared is from the book I wrote called “Charismatic Violence” to explain all that I went through throughout the years. My prayer is that it will promote a blanket of healing for anyone who has been afraid to open up and come out of the closet in relation to their own domestic violence.
