My Story – Joie

January 26,2022, my beautiful, loving, big hearted daughter was shot and killed by her fiancé in a domestic incident. The oldest grand daughter also shot now suffers from paralysis of her lower body. In this photo are all her grandchild she has taken care of through custody awarded to her by the state if Kentucky just over 9 years ago. My heart is shatter! Our family is shatter, This is every mothers nightmare and now it is mine. Her family, his family, her 3 children and her 8 grandchildren children ( 3 who witnessed the horrific act by the person they too loved) and the 100s of friends she has made since she was a little girl are devestated beyond imagination.

While I have returned home from the moments of surrounding these many broken hearts, my grief engulfs me. I can only take it one moment at a time to ride the wave of tears and heart break.

This takes me back to the many conversations I have had when she called me in hysterics because her abuser was badgering her with all the things he thought she had done wrong. He had day in and day out verbal taunts about the conspiracy theories running through his head, constant rants about money ( he had plenty from a recent accident) about her grown children, the little ones she cared for if the did anything wrong, or if the house wasn’t cleaned enough for him. He cut her off from all her friends and even her children. She had two jobs she loved but he forced her to quit and stay home. It crushed her even more.

My red flags were going off every where. I begged her to leave. She wouldn’t. She had finally over the years built a home for those 6 kids and she would not take them back on the street with nothing again.
Thank you all for this moment to share my Daughter Shannon Michele Buchler’s Story and the pain I am in from this tragic heartbreak.
