I was drinking, at the time and started dating this guy he was beautiful to look at. But turns out he was a meth addict. The signs were there he would always be around me, like no space at all. Then the first deal breaker (but not a deal breaker). He punched me in the face and a cab driver helped me and got me to safety. I went down hard on the road. Who hits a woman? So, I get home and my now husband says “What happened?” I tell him, Johnathan punched me in the face. My now husband was upset so I moved to the local reserve for summer and drank. Somehow he showed up and was staying with me on the reserve now. Johnathan ended up robbing me of $8,000 and getting crack-smoking it at night when I was sleeping and breaking into cottages to go used. I do not remember how the fight started but he punched me in the face again!!! I fought back and started to scream for help. He was just beating me, so he picked me up and was choking me against the wall. I broke away and he was now sitting on my chest just punching me in the head. He then said, “Shut up and I will stop”. I did not make a sound and went limp. He got off me and I took off naked out the door into the pitch black of the reserve. I heard something growl at me but I was running for my life. I ended up hiding on a young man’s front porch holding the door shut with my legs because I knew he woke up early & would help me. I passed out thinking that he was going to find me dead. But I won’t up to him in the morning and he says” Miranda what happened?” So I tell him please just help me go get some clothes in case Jonathon, is still there. He then walked m to the cottage did a search and stood guard while I found clothes. That young man then walked me across the road and knocked on the door for me. I did not want anyone to know what happened to me. But the lady who did not like me opened the door and called the police for me. She then took me into her home to stay safe till the police came. The police had to boot in the door as he barricaded the doors. But they got in there and took him down by that point I was standing at the end of the driveway and watched them take him away. I yelled at him never again enjoy jail. He was sentenced to 5 years in jail. I was left partially deaf and had a huge cave in my skull because he fractured it. Even my ear was purple whole side of my head was one giant bruise. I should have went to hospital but said I am good. Now I am married to my roommate from the city. Life is good
