I was with my boyfriend for 4 years, everything was great the first 3 then he relapsed on meth and started ignoring all of his real friends and only listening to enablers. He started hitting me right before my sisters wedding in July 2022, I had to have the makeup artist use makeup to cover bruises on my arm with makeup, I said they were from walking our new dog and him pulling on the leash….it started getting worse and worse as the year went on, his mom knew about it and witnessed it and begged me to get him help instead of calling the police. He tried to kill me multiple times, with our dog coming between us. The police had come to our house multiple times and I lied to them about what was going on. He finally got arrested February 24th, 2023. The police gave me no choice and said they were taking him because they said the next time they came back they’d probably be zipping me up in a body bag. I am forever grateful for the police department in my town as if it wasn’t for them I’d never have been able to get away.
