Steve – nice guy met on a dating site I dated about 10 years ago.. I just realised how to describe how he treated me. It’s called DV. We date for an intense couple of months or so… Catching up as much as we could. Everyone who met him thought he was wonderful. He even met my parents. Then one night he had a few too many drinks, and got frustrated and embarrassed when he dropped something in the kitchen – as I went to help him, he pushed me a across the kitchen and I knocked my head on the kitchen cupboards… Didn’t apologise … Just acted like he had done nothing wrong. Two things to note: I was recovering from an accident at the time – a 10 cm crack in my skull 😲 .. And the neighbours teenage daughter was visiting and saw him push me. 😣 Regardless of how great I thought he was, there was no way at the time I could let her think that behaviour was okay so I broke up with him…. Then he started coming after me for money he thought I owed him – ie reimbursement of when he took me out to dinner !?!? And made threats he could take some of the equity out if my house as we had spent so much time together ?? ( My legal counsel advised he would not be able to ) You know I used to just think he was a gold digging ass… I just realised he was indeed a gold digger… But much also a DV perp… I actually think he could have turned very dangerous physically and otherwise… I do not think I was the first by any means .. I think I made an early and lucky escape🌷 But he got away with it .. then. Times are different now .. ONLY because all of you are saying NO! And telling your stories… Hopefully because of you, people like Steve will either stop before they start, or be bought to justice. Thankyou for giving me the voice to tell my story … I believe you sister I just realised how to describe how he treated me. It’s called DV.
