Colorado Springs, Colorado – Break the Silence Against Domestic Violence is excited to announce a partnership with Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center. The formal partnership establishes regular office hours at Mt. Carmel, directly supporting the military and veteran community.

Members of the community and news media are welcome to the ribbon cutting celebrating the partnership, Feb 22, at 6 p.m. As part of ceremonies, BTSADV recognizes Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center, Springs Rescue Mission, and the Loo Family for their tremendous contributions to Colorado Springs and local domestic violence awareness and prevention efforts.

The mission of BTSADV is to provide community resources and support services to victims, survivors, and families affected by domestic violence. The organization was founded by 22-year-old domestic abuse survivor Kristen Faith. Faith took to social media to share a restraining order to break her silence, later launching the national non-profit organization. Today, BTSADV serves to inspire survivors and families to champion a cause that devastates 1 in 3 women, 1 in 7 men, and 5 million children annually.

Community advocate Tara Loo and other local domestic violence survivors introduced BTSADV in Colorado Springs after attending a survivor’s retreat in San Diego, Calif., in 2016 after the city reported more than 40 domestic violence homicides between 2013 and 2018.

“We’re here to serve and to partner with like-minded agencies that are passionate about creating sustainable and innovation change,” said Faith, BTSADV Founder and CEO.

“Mt. Carmel welcomes our new partner, BTSADV, and we’re proud to join Kristen as a strong voice and supporting organization against domestic violence,” said Retired Army Col. Bob McLaughlin, Mt. Carmel Chief Operating Officer.  Learn more at www.btsadv.org
