My story – Laytona Chesteen

Thank you for letting me share my story….Yes I’m a victim and also a Survivor of Domestic Violence… I thank God that I am still here on this earth to share my story with women that there is a better life after Domestic Violence. I was with this man that was supposed to protect and love me but instead all he ever wanted to do was beat and humiliate me. I have suffered a fractured nose, scar above my eye and also missing teeth. From him kicking, punching and spitting on me was a daily routine for him towards me. I stayed with him and endure the beatings for 5 years. I’m not proud that I went through this pain during this time in my life but I’m glad I did because I can show others that you can live and love again when you go thru domestic violence that you have the will to win and survive. I’m so happy now that I currently love again and he loves, respects, and protects me. I also was able to finish driving school I currently posses a CDL license…I also speak at churches, events etc in breaking the silence of Domestic Violence…I thank you once again for letting me share my story.
