He beat me, raped me, controlled me, belittled me and slept with women in my bed in front of me. I stayed up all night in fear of sleeping, afraid of what would happen to me in my sleep. I slept while he worked. I was cut off from friends, had no family and was not permitted to leave the home without him. One day it was so bad I was left for dead. Moved cross country through a program for women like me and never looked back. I lost so much because of that man, my child, my pride and my sense of worth were all gone. I fought to learn to love again, but learned to have boundaries. I survived, not without a huge mental deficit. Never again.
