In the world of domestic violence survivors, there is great significance to the number 22. What is it about that number and why does it hold so much meaning for survivors?
Break the Silence Against Domestic Violence (BTSADV) founder Kristen Faith explains that the number 22’s significance is connected to numerology and our angels in heaven.
“Angel number 22 is a powerful sign from your angels that you are on purpose in life and about to turn your dreams into reality. Number 22 is called a Master Number in Numerology, which means that it has an extraordinarily powerful vibration,” she said.
According to the website The Secret of the Tarot, angel numbers are “sequences of numbers that carry divine guidance by referring to specific numerological meanings.” It is often how our angels communicate with us and send us messages.
So what does 22 mean to Kristen and others within the BTSADV community? She explained that on a personal level, it symbolized new beginnings. “It’s the age I was when I broke the cycle by leaving an abusive relationship,” she said, adding that the number 22 is also the age that countless BTSADV angels lost their lives to DV, stating that “through the Angel Fund, their legacy will live on forever.”
Kristen Faith added that the number 22 is the age she founded BTSADV, which began her purposeful life journey.
“When I was 22 years old, I hated life. I had just left an abusive relationship and was in a dark place. I knew I wanted more for myself and wanted to take what happened to me and transform it into something purposeful. When starting BTSADV, I began connecting with countless survivors who had a ‘22’ story. Their loved ones may have lost their lives at 22 or maybe a survivor shared they left a 22-year abusive marriage. There were so many stories that related to one another with the connection 22. On top of connecting with families with a ‘22’ story, I began seeing the number 22 everywhere. It was on street signs, billboards, license plates, or significant dates. It was at that moment that I looked up the meaning of 22. When I came across the powerful symbolism of 22, I knew I was on the right path. I was fulfilling my God-given purpose,” she explained.
Kristen’s connection to the number 22 is an interesting one. The Secret of the Tarot website goes into depth about the meaning behind each number and what it all means. For example, the website explained if you keep waking up in the middle of the night at the same time, those numbers can signify that an angel is reaching out to you to tell you something specific.
Below is how the website explains the significance of certain numbers:
- 1 – The number one represents originality, leadership, and independence. It could signal new beginnings in your life.
- 2 – Two represents cooperation, association, and sensitivity to others.
- 3 – Three relates to spirituality, creativity, and self-expression. Angels use this number to show you new creative paths.
- 4 – Four is associated with stability, work, and career.
- 5 – Five represents adventure, excitement and higher consciousness. It lets you know that good times are ahead.
- 6 – Six is associated with the home, including family and responsibilities.
- 7 – Seven is the number of the spirit and shows that you are aligned with your spiritual purpose.
- 8 – Eight represents abundance and material prosperity.
- 9 – Nine is connected to the accomplishment of your soul’s deeper purpose. It’s a sign that you are ready to achieve your real purpose.
- 11 – Eleven is a Master Number and sign to listen to your intuition.
- 22 – Twenty-two is the number of the Master Builder. It tells you that you can make your dreams a reality.
It’s interesting to note my own angel number. As mentioned earlier, waking up at the same time every night holds great significance. I looked this up on the Secret of the Tarot website to learn that my waking up at 3:30 every morning (angel number 330) means that I need to “stay alert and attentive” while seeking divine guidance. And when I do, it is indicative that “something big is on the horizon” and that I should be willing to walk outside of my comfort zone.
For Kristen and BTSADV, honoring Legacy Families was always a part of the organization’s vision, but the Angel Family Retreat was not.
“Every family that I have had the honor of meeting has seriously changed my life forever. Their hearts and passion to keep their Angel’s legacy alive feeds my soul to work harder than ever to end this issue of [domestic violence]. Angels have always been a special part of our work. It’s because of our Legacy Families that we’ve filled a gap in services to help support their healing. We need each other to help combat [domestic violence],” explained Kristen.
“Our Angel Family Retreat was inspired by our Board President, Tara Woodlee, after she had a vision of providing a retreat exclusively for Angel families grieving the loss of their loved ones. BTSADV is all about families helping families. There aren’t many programs in the country for families who have lost a loved one because of domestic violence. We want them to know we are here…for life.”
You can support our Legacy Families by participating in the Angel Fund. Your active presence from July 1 to 22 could make a huge difference in the life of a survivor. You can donate to the Angel Fund here or by texting “Angel22” to 71777.
