My Story – Ashley K

At the age of 12 til the age of 37 I was suffering from domestic violence. At the age of 12 I was in one foster home after another and was beaten, raped, controlled by the foster fathesr and or the brothers. I made to do many different sexual acts just so I could live there. No one believed me because I was “just another foster child that brought in money. ” At the age of 24 I got pregnant with my then boyfriend who was very loving at first. Then he got back on his drugs and drinking and he was like Jekyll and Mr Hyde. He ended up throwing me down steps at 7 months, wouldn’t allow me to see a doctor, see friends, see family. After my son was born I placed him for adoption with a Christian family I knew. The marriage ended shortly after that. I then met my two youngest kids father after three years being a lone and thought I found a great man. Well that didn’t last he beat me and abused me after his mom passed away in 2010. His mom protected me and the kids. From 2010 to 2013 he beat me, pushed me whenever he was drunk or high. In 2013 when he left was the greatest day ever until he became vindictive and used my kids as pawns. He was able to take them from me because of stuff he claimed I did. It was like CYS had him on a pedestal. He then ended up raping his own daughter in 2018. So now it is all about healing.
