Surviving Domestic Violence and Assault: My Journey of Fear and Resilience

domestic violence

My now ex boyfriend and I were sitting down talking and we had some exchange of words and he followed me from the basement to the living room and I he just sat on the couch acting weird so I went outside and called 911 because I was scared and nothing even happened physically I just got a sense fear. The 911 operator wouldn’t dispatch me through so I hung up on him and went back into the house. As soon as I did we were arguing I basically told him I was going to save and move out and he followed me to the bedroom and as soon as I walked back into the living room I was in back of the couch he grabbed my throat and pushed me over the couch and tumbled on top of me choking me. As soon as I came to I started punching him and yelled do you realize what you just did to me?!? And I beat the shit out of him and ran outside and called the police. I moved out and two nights later I was in another city and I got a flat tire I pulled over and someone pulled up next to me not long after and said he would help me well he helped me and he also raped me.
