Join the Movement: #Run4Her - Raising Voices for Domestic Violence Awareness

Welcome to the #Run4Her virtual Facebook event! We’re thrilled to invite you to be part of this incredible initiative aimed at raising awareness about domestic violence and building a strong, supportive community. #Run4Her isn’t just about running; it’s about coming together as a collective force to make a meaningful difference. As we lace up our shoes and hit the virtual pavement, we’re not just logging miles – we’re amplifying our voices, raising awareness, and sparking conversations that can change lives. By participating in #Run4Her, you’re joining a passionate community of advocates dedicated to breaking the silence surrounding domestic violence. Together, we’re honoring the lives lost to DV, uplifting survivors, and standing in solidarity with those still trapped in abusive situations. Let’s run, connect, and make a difference! Thank you for being part of this inspiring movement!

We’re excited to have you join us in supporting BTSADV, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving survivors of domestic violence. Our goal is to raise $50,000 to fund BTSADV and our programs, including scholarships and grants.

  2. Sign-Up: At https://btsadv.org/run4her and register so we can send you your free gifts as a token of our appreciation!
  3. Your first donation of a minimum of $5 will earn you a special gift of #run4her shoelaces, which will be mailed to you within 4 to 6 weeks.
  4. As a token of our appreciation, when you raise $100 or more, you’ll receive a BTSADV #run4her T-shirt. This shirt will be mailed to you within 4 weeks.
  5. Spread the Word: After signing up, start your own fundraiser using the link provided on Facebook to encourage your friends, family, and network to donate. Share your personal motivation for supporting BTSADV and the #run4her cause.
  6. Share Your Journey: Share your miles ran/walked in our Facebook group and within your community!

Remember, every contribution counts! Even small donations can make a big difference in supporting survivors of domestic violence. Together, we can make a positive impact and provide vital resources to those who need it most.

Thank you for joining us in this important cause. Let’s lace up our shoes, spread awareness, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of survivors. #run4her

About Break the Silence Against Domestic Violence

BTSADV is a grassroots organization founded in 2011 when one survivor decided to share her story on Facebook. 11 years later, we are touching the lives of millions of survivors online every day. We host retreats to help survivors connect with other survivors and create a supportive community that promotes healing and growth.

Our Legacy Scholarship fund aims to provide scholarships to survivors of DV in honor of the angels we lost. The program was founded with the knowledge that with a college education, a survivor of domestic violence is 80% less likely to return to an abusive relationship. BTSADV supports programs like The Grants of Hope, a financial literacy and grant program. The Holidays of Hope gives gifts to children during the holidays and many other community outreach event.

How do I find my fundraiser?

Go to facebook.com/fundraisers

Can I start the challenge without my T-shirt?

Absolutely – you can start tracking your progress starting June 10th. When your T-shirt arrives, snap a picture of yourself wearing it and post it to your fundraiser and in the group for everyone to see!

Can I start early/finish after?

Our goal is to complete the challenge during the month of July, but you can start and finish a bit early to reach your goals!

How do I track my mileage?

You have options for logging your miles. We suggest you track your mileage on your fundraising page using a pedometer, smart watch, or a calendar like our tracking document. You can find the tracking document in the featured section of the Facebook Group. Take a pic or screenshot and post your miles on your fundraising page so your friends and family can see and support you by donating to BTSADV.

Can I go more than 22 miles?

Absolutely. If you want to set your own mileage goal – go for it!

What if I fail to complete the challenge?

We would love to see everyone completing the challenge, but we understand that completing 22 miles in one month might not be feasible – every project you share gets us closer to our goal, so thank you for participating!

Can I choose how to get my miles, like walk, jog, run, swim, or bike?

Absolutely. Choose the physical activity that you like best. We want you to move however you’re comfortable so feel free to walk, bike, swim, run, or jog – as long as you’re moving you’re helping us hit our goal.

Do I have to provide proof of completion?

Absolutely not! We trust you! But it’s a great idea to post updates on your progress to your fundraising page to help encourage others to donate and keep going.
