I was a victim of domestic abuse for 10 years from the age of 24 years old to 34 years old. I got in this relationship by being disobedient to my parents and pastor at that time. My abuser controlled every movement in my life. I was beaten every day because things he didn’t like. I was not allowed to have a key to my own house, I had to eat what he said to eat but he ate the best. This happened for 10 years until I made the decision to finally leave.
